On behalf of everyone involved with Defense & Security 2012, the show organizer extends its deepest appreciation to all for making the 2012 event an international success.
The show had over 300 exhibitors from 38 nations and visitors arrived from 44 countries - a very international affair! Famous names included: Saab, AM General, Harris, MBDA, IMI, Rafael Brahmos, Thales, Lockheed Martin, Ukrspecexport, Diehl, Atlas Elektronic GmbH, Oto Melara, Aerospace Longmarch, Glock, Microsoft, Beretta, Navantia, Nexter, Bosch, KIA Motors, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and many others.
Defense & Security 2012 featured 15 National Pavilions from; Belarus, China, Czech, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Ukraine, USA and Thailand. The number of visitors also saw a big increase compared to previous events. Over 300 official delegates and ambassadors from 34 countries were in attendance, including Ministers of Defence from ASEAN countries and Chiefs of Armed Forces. The Thai Minister of Defence and top brass from the Royal Thai Armed Forces, Army, Navy and Air Force, were among the VIP visitors. Positive feedback came from all areas.
Opened by Permanent Secretary for Defence, Gen.Sathian Permtongin, the exhibition welcomed many top dignitaries including Commander in Chief of The Royal Thai Army - Gen.Prayut Chan-o-cha, Commander in Chief of The Royal Thai Navy - Adm. Surasak Roonroengrom, Commander in Chief of The Royal Thai Air Force - ACM Ittaporn Subhawong and Deputy Chief of Defence Forces - Adm. Yuttana Phagpolngam
A record 85% of exhibitors rated the show a success and were particularly impressed with the quality of Thai VIPs in attendance. Many companies are already confirmed to exhibit again at the 2013 event which is expected to double in size to over 15,000 sqm.
Defense & Security is now one of the leading military shows in the ASEAN region - and a must-attend event in one of the fastest growing areas of the world.
